The Gujarat Region Culture (GuRCul) Program

As some of you may already be aware, in 2005, The University of Florida created the nation’s first Center for the Study of Hindu Traditions (CHiTra) to encourage the research, teaching, and public understanding of Hindu culture and traditions. The Gujarat Region Culture Program is one that we proudly host.

We are delighted to invite you to a weekend immersed in Gujarati poetry and literature from August 25-26, 2012. Please click Program Details above for more information.

Program Outline

Day Time Event
August 25th, Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm Throughout the day, we will hold poetry recitation along specific themes (such as diaspora, Religion, Family, Love, Society, and Country, justice).
7:00pm to 8:30pm Dinner with Drs. Pallaviben & Kiranbhai Patel and Dr. Paul D’Anieri, Dean of CLAS
August 26th, Sunday 9:00am to 12:00 Noon Poetry
12:00 Noon Lunch and Closing Ceremony

Call for Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help us spread the word about this program and allow the nationwide Gujarati community rally to the cause of Gujarat Region Culture Program. Please let us know if you would be interested in volunteering some time to make this program a success.
