Prathis Murali

Prathik Murali is a PhD student at the Department of Religion at the University of Florida. He studies South Asian Religions with a specific focus on Śrīvaiṣṇava hagiography. He has a Masters in Historical Studies and a graduate diploma in Manuscriptology and Palaeography.

He has presented his research in various forums including the American Academy of Religion (AAR), Center for South Asia (Madison), and the Association of Asian Studies. He has worked on a manuscript conservation project for the British Library. He has been a consultant to the Government of Tamil Nadu for various temple conservation projects as the expert on religion. He has also given invited lectures in many forums including at the Culture Ministry of India, Jawaharlal Nehru University, The University of Madras, Madras Museum, and Amrita University.

He is currently co-authoring a translation of a 13th Century Manipravala text and co-editing a volume titled Rethinking Śrīvaiṣṇava Studies among other ongoing projects.
