String of Pearls Concert- Harn Museum Nights

On Thursday, April 11th, the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art welcomes you to an evening of classical Indian art and music.Join us for “A Little Night Music” featuring SPICMACAY (The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth)-UF Jam group volunteers. UF students, faculty, and Gainesvile community musicians will perform several genres related to Indian Classical music. The event will feature vocalists, a sitar, violin, veena, tabla, mridangam, and flute. For more information, go here.

Hindustani Vocals: Subhajit Sengupta, Mihika Kulkarni, and Mansi Prasad (UF graduate students)
Carnatic Vocals: Mathura Alladi (Director, Jathiswara School of Dance and Music, Gainesville), Prarthana Group (Gainesville), Lakshmi Madhavan (UF graduate student)
Sitar: Sourav Chatterjee (UF postdoc)
Tabla: Kevin Singh (UF undergraduate student)
Violin: Ashwin Ramanathan (UF undergraduate student)
Veena: Meera Sitharam (SPICMACAY faculty advisor)
